Spinal Manipulation

Spinal manipulation (or chiropractic adjustment) increases range of motion and restores normal joint movement to the spine and/or extremities.

Soft Tissue Manipulation

Dr. Karley specializes in hands on, soft tissue manipulation. This treatment increases blood flow to dysfunctional tissues and removes myofascial restrictions due to overuse or traumatic injury, leaving patients with increased range of motion, relief from pain, and improved overall movement patterns.

Corrective Exercise

Each manual therapy session is augmented with corrective or rehabilitative exercises.  Corrective exercises increase the strength and function of problem areas and are key to achieving lasting pain relief and freedom of motion.

Functional Taping

Functional tape (or kinesiotape) is an effective tool in the support of dysfunctional joints and tissues.  Advanced elastic tape is expertly applied to decompress soft tissues, allowing for proper blood and lymph flow to the affected area. Compared to traditional, highly restrictive athletic tape, kinesiotape supports structures while allowing full range of motion. Dr. Karley is certified in Fascial Movement Taping through RockTape.

Originally from Lafayette, Louisiana, Dr. McCloskey attended the University of Houston where she was a two-time Conference USA champion pole vaulter on the track & field team.  This background in athletic performance and elite physical training provided the impetus for her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology/Exercise Science from the University of Houston.  She then attained her Doctorate of Chiropractic from Texas Chiropractic College where she was valedictorian of her graduating class in 2017.  As a chiropractor and soft tissue mobilization specialist in Houston, she worked with a wide variety of patients ranging from professional athletes and active military personnel to pregnant women, young children, and grandparents trying to keep up with their grandchildren.  In 2020 she relocated from Texas to California with her family.

Dr. McCloskey's passion is helping her patients regain an active, pain free life by customizing a recovery program tailored to their individual needs, challenges, and desired outcomes using the most advanced chiropractic techniques and therapies available.  She is committed to guiding her patients along their path to recovery so they can be ready for life’s next big moment.

"I specialize in sports injuries, postural issues, and rehabilitative and corrective exercises.  I am passionate about figuring out why you hurt and teaching you how to fix it.  I treat every patient like an athlete and I truly believe that movement is the best medicine we can give our bodies.  All I ask is that you understand that I am a southern girl relocated to California, so please excuse my excessive use of the word 'y'all.'"

Doug M:

“ Karley is bar-none the most helpful specialist I’ve ever seen. She has consistently diagnosed and treated a wide array of afflictions i’ve brought to her, as well as given me actionable behaviors to implement in my routines to make me healthier and less injury-prone in the long run. Once, while on a trip, she was able to correctly guess the nature of the pain I was having via only a phone description and give me a rehab routine that saw results within a week. She is personable, knowledgeable, and unequivocally cares about making you better.”

Matt F:

Dr. Karley is one of those chiropractors you hear about, but never think you'll be lucky enough to find. She rocks! In the first hour session she taught me so much about my body and posture, released muscles that had never been given attention, did a few adjustments, recommended activities for my lower back pain, and more. I felt that everything was sanitary and safe amidst COVID. She was incredibly nice and enthusiastic. I already have noticed relief in my lower back pain and am looking forward to continuing improvement. I'm very happy I found her and 10/10 would recommend to others.

Sara C:

Dr. Karley is amazing! I have never been to a chiropractor before, so I didn't know what to expect but I love everything we have been doing so far. I swam competitively for many years and she is really helping me work on my posture and strength with her exercises. Also during this pandemic with working from home, I have had a few aches and pains (which is why I initially went in) that she has treated/helped with. I HIGHLY recommend! She is great and makes you feel comfortable especially if you are a first-timer.

Olivia B:

When I first saw Dr. McCloskey, I was in extreme pain. My body was not able to stand up straight and walking was extremely painful and nearly impossible. I contacted Dr. McCloskey because I thought I had a herniated disc or something serious. Once I arrived at her office, it was a matter of minutes before I could stand up straight again! Dr. Karley not only helped improve my pain significantly within minutes, but she also taught me stretches and gave me very helpful tips on how to lay down and stand up without being in excruciating pain. I’ve been to many chiropractors before and none of them took the time to show me exercises and stretches to help my body heal for the long term and to prevent this from happening again. I am so thankful for Dr. McCloskey and would recommend her to anyone in need of chiropractic care!
